No, we are out of network with insurance companies and we are not enrolled with Medicare. This provides us freedom to spend one on one time with patients for as long as we need to and provide complete hands on care if needed. Our length of care is not limited by insurance companies this way and we can also provide wellness services, not only to address current issues but to prevent future injuries (which insurance does not cover). HSA and FSA cards may be accepted
- Most people improve significantly within the first 1-3 visits
- For people with chronic pain that has been present > 1 year, it may be helpful to allow for 6-10 visits
- Treatment sessions are recommended on a weekly or biweekly basis based on initial progress and prognosis
- Not initially. In New York State you can see a licensed doctor of physical therapy for up to 10 visits or 30 days (whichever comes first).
- Your therapist will work with you to obtain a referral if your care plan seems like it will need to go beyond 30 days
- Pelvic floor therapy provides both evaluation and treatment each visit
- Fascial Counterstrain treatment, specifically for the pelvic floor, greatly speeds up recovery and is a non invasive option that can be performed externally
- You also have the option for internal exam/treatment if patient and practitioner believe this would be appropriate and helpful towards treatment

You want to work with someone who considers the body as an interconnected system, rather than focusing only on isolated or localized issues
1) Drink plenty of water. Stay hydrated by drinking around 8 glasses of water a day to keep post treatment soreness to a minimum. Your urine should be pale yellow color if you are adequately hydrated.
2) Avoid strenuous activity for 1-2 days following your treatment to allow your body to integrate its new healthy movement pattern. Heavy lifting, prolonged gardening, and long car rides have gotten clients into trouble in the past. Do your best to schedule your appointment where you can have some time to heal for a few days after your session.
3) You may experience increased pain and/or soreness after your session that can last for 1-3 days. Light activity such as walking and swimming are helpful during this adjustment to your new way of being in and using your body. I especially recommend a walk around the block following your treatment to better integrate the changes that have been made
Fascia is the connective tissue network that is found coursing throughout your entire body. From blood vessels to the covering of organs to muscles, bones, tendons, and ligaments. Even all of your nerves including the brain and spinal cord, down to your lymphatic system are covered in fascia. It has been called the largest sensory organ in the body due to the presence of receptors that sense pain, temperature, biochemical changes, and mechanical strain. Fascia has been proven to be contractile and can adversely affect the mechanics of the body when stuck in a strain pattern. It is the medium through which we communicate with the body mind when applying Counterstrain treatment.
- In a fee for service model I am able to spend a lot more time with you. You will receive better quality of care due to my eclectic skill set, which means you will get better in a shorter amount of time and back to the things you love to do, ultimately saving money in the long run.
- While the out of pocket cost may seem more expensive initially, it actually turns out to be similar for a higher quality of care. For example, patient copays generally range from $30-$50, have a deductible, or a coinsurance. The majority of in-network clinics will see a patient 2-3 times per week, thus costing between $60-$150 per week.
- Care can be provided based on the needs of the patient, rather than what the insurance will pay for. Providing this high standard of care allows patients to recover faster with fewer visits.

Yes, my services are complimentary to other modalities such as acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage. However, if you have not been getting cumulative results from these services I would recommend taking a break while you are seeing me. Each situation is different and sometimes too much stimulation from different techniques may overwhelm the body.

- Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) is a relatively new technique in the field of manual medicine.
- Brian Tuckey started developing the technique in 1997 and did not start teaching the technique until 2004.
- The power and scope of FCS progresses daily as they are constantly improving the technique and doing more research.
- Yes, in general, individual treatment results are lasting. Most conditions, however, are due to dozens, even hundreds of individual dysfunctions thus multiple treatment sessions are frequently required to reach maximum benefit.
